Tried the bult in announcement app . Selected my nesthub max . But speaks nothing.
Works fine for me on a litany of devices. Are you trying to speak using the device page or a rule or what?

OK. After doing some testing I've confirmed that TTS works on gen 1 Nest Minis, gen 2 Nest Minis, and a gen 2 Nest Hub. It does not work for any of my gen 1 Nest Hubs.
On the gen 1 Hubs, the media player pops up and I can see it trying to play a clip, but there's no audio.
They also show up differently in the list. "Annie's Bedroom Display" is a gen 2 while "google-nest-hub on #ipaddress#" is a gen 1.
Tagging @support to see if there's anything we can try.
I have an assortment of minis, homes, gen 1 & gen 2 and they all announce as they should. Wonder what's different. As for the different naming convention, that happened when they released fucia. The names are generated by Google, not hubitat.
I'll look at my gen 1's and see if I have them set up differently then the gen 2.
I now remember this was a thing awhile ago.
You have to add a "delay before speaking" . I have it set to 1 sec. That should fix this.

That did it. I added the one second delay under the preferences and it's working a treat now.
