Just moved from a c-4 to a c-8 Hubitat and still experiencing Zigbee issues that others have reported. While waiting for official confirmation from the team that it’s been fixed, I tried updated my hub and it’s stuck at “checking for updates”. I’m currently running version 2.3.5.105.
Yes, I’ve tried rebooting the hub several times and I’m still stuck at the same screen and have left it there for 10 minutes.
Any ideas? Sounds like I should have waited a few weeks or months for the c-8 growing pains to be resolved.
Use the diagnostic tool to get it updated. Download a backup (or do a cloud backup if you have hub protect) before updating just in case. It is perfectly safe to do the update from here and has gotten people out of a stuck state before.
Link to instructions, scroll up from there for how to access the diagnostic tool.
Is your network speed set to fixed 100 or auto? (settings>>network setup) If it's fixed, set for auto. I've seen that a lot when negotiation with the switch isn't quite right.
I'm using the C8 and things are working well at this point. I had a handful of Zigbee devices go wonky at first (stop reporting, need to be rebooted or re-paired) but that appears to have cleared up, and Z-wave has been fine from the start. As of 2.3.5.113 release I'm feeling pretty confident. Still early days, though, and all new Z-Wave and Zigbee chips does bring a lot of change with it.
Release 113 has been a lot better for me, I haven't had one Zigbee offline since updating to 113, nearly 18 hours ago. And things seem to be working a lot smoother.
With the .110 and previous updates, offline events were pretty regular. Automations weren't running like they were supposed to. I was even getting random on/off triggering of lights seemingly due to some weird Zigbee sensor data, almost like a repeater would store 20 commands and suddenly release them all at once hours after the sensor had triggered. It was like living in a ghost house for a few weeks...
