Chatty Temp/humidty sensors

I have two third reality Zigbee temp/humidity sensor I use to monitor a fridge and chest freezer.

I can't seem to slow down the flood of messages from these guys. I tried widening the delta for reporting to the max value of 5 degrees or 10 percent. They still were as chatty as ever. Then I disabled them both and they continue to be chatty. I did do a config after changing the preferences but it doesn't seem to help.

Wondering what I am doing wrong here?? Suggestions???

Try re-pairing (don't remove them, just re-pair) to see if that helps them get the new configuration?

Disabling the driver won't change any behavior on the device, FWIW.

I have to do this occasionally with random devices. Not sure why they all of the sudden start spamming. But re-pairing fixes the problem.

I have never re-paired a zigbee device. Only Zwave (which creates a new device). Do I have to do the create temporary virtual device, then swap device to temporary, repair the zigbee device, then swap all the apps back to the newly created zigbee device?

......or is repair for zigbee going to leave in place the same device and all the linkages to apps will be preserved?

You don't need to do anything special: just put the hub in pairing mode and reset the device to re-pair it (or however you do it for that particular device). It won't create a new device like Z-Wave would if you tried the same thing; they'll match up.

Yes, as he said, the device will match up to the device that you have already paired. Don't remove the device from HE. Just put it into pairing mode and re-pair and it should drop right in as the same device as before. Does that make sense?

Yes.
