I use a bunch of aqura sensors. I do have some IKEA plug-in outlets around the house. I have some spare centralite plug-in modules laying around and was thinking of adding them to my network. My concern is I know they don't play well with with the aqura device.
Since I had built a mesh with the IKea and add the Centralite will that screw things up?
Thanks
Mike
Hard to say for sure: Zigbee devices choose their own routes, and they can change over time. So just because they are currently routing a certain way (using a certain repeater or connecting directly to the hub) doesn't mean that they will stay that way--but it is a possibility. In my experience, Xiaomi devices seem particularly hesitant to change routes, but others have reported different experiences (could have just been my Zigbee network or differences between the exact Xiaomi devices we were using). So you might be good if you add the outlet, but it could also cause problems in the future. Or not. There's just no way to control that.
...except there sort of is: I know a couple people here got a second Hubitat just for Xiaomi devices. Then, they're on a separate Zigbee network, and you don't have to worry about "Xiaomi-unfriendly" repeaters. You do have to worry about building a solid enough Zigbee mesh on both, however. The hub is an expense, of course, but probably less than replacing all the Xiaomi devices (though I've made it a goal to replace all of mine over time so I eventually don't have to worry about this, which I mostly have by now).
Also, the only Centralite outlet I know that people for sure put on the "bad" list was the square "3-series" or 3100/3210 versions (including the Iris v2 plug and an early generation of SmartThings outlet). If you have the rectangular 4-series outlet, then I'm not sure anyone has tested it. Good luck either way!
