Next time put the seat and the cover down. When the wife leaves the cover up you can call her out on it like she does for the seat.
I must admit, that I really like the idea of the Z-Flip design, but until they stop being twice as thick as a regular slab-style phone when closed, I'll pass.
Oh and Apple would need to make one too (I just prefer the iOS/macOS ecosystem).
While I don't have to justify anything like this myself, I would argue if I had spent $2K I can leave the seat wherever I like... 
Just leave the lid up and unflushed, give her something real to moan about she''ll soon forget about the seat/lid
Depends on the person, in my experience... There should be a selection committee...
Related, I just received my ZFold 7, and it's my favorite phone, ever. External cover screen is as wide and a little taller than my S21, folded it's the same depth as my S21. Internal screen gives me tablet-like space when I want it for pictures and videos, reading, maps\navigation, multi-window for multiple apps, etc.
Best of both phone and tablet worlds, will never go back to single screen phone. Wife updated from her ZFold 6 and is equally smitten. 
I did like my Razor... Sigh... But I do also like my Pixel 9a... 
Make sure you incinerate your old phone, it would be frightening if somebody sees your search history

My search history is mostly trying to understand @rlithgow1's posts... So yeah, it's a hot mess.
Then you should also make sure you "close the lid" on your phone.... don't want innocent minds to see what you have witnessed....
Actually, in our house, we need to keep the lids closed, or else the cats will take a swim.
Meet Mr. Hubitat. I asked AI to create a description of what Hubitat would look like if it were a person. It said to copy the description it gave into an image generator. So I took that and pasted it into DALL-E. So I had AI write the Prompt for AI.
This was prompt #1 on DALL-E using the AI description:
So I thought, Oh, I should at least change the AI's choice of a gray jacket to a green jacket in the prompt...
So this was the same exact prompt but with a green jacket instead.
My wife was looking at what I was reading and two reactions.

She wouldn't want to date him, he has a lit candle for a lapel pin. The prompt was for a "Glowing LED pin on lapel"
