I mean I've said for years it's a horrible story. He's shunned for what other reindeer (including his own parents) consider a serious deformity. Other reindeer are cruel to him right up until the point he's useful, then everyone cheers like they never treated him like garbage....

Well you could say that the Bumble and Herbie were also redeemed, along w/the misfit toys, so the story is about loving everyone regardless.
But...
- Bumble: Unloved until he learned how to put stars on top of Christmas trees, reducing ladder injuries by 80%
- Herbie: Outcast until he saved the elves thousands of dollars in dental bills
- Misfit Toys: Ignored until Santa realized he could save a few bucks giving away the free toys
Note: I'm still gonna watch it again this year...love it regardless.
