Yeah, if I do manage to scrape the top of my motorcycle helmet as I ride under there, then I really want to see the video!
Have lowered the road, raised the bridge or are after more victims?
They lowered the road slightly. Raising the railroad tracks would have been more difficult (though perhaps easier than the sum of the bridge & truck repairs).
I think I remember reading an article about how that would have been a financial nightmare because they would have had to start a mile out on each side to get the right grade and allow the space.
No one considered a train escalator? Seems obvious to me... 
The actress in the UK version is SO much better!!
And the Railroad doesn't pay for that, the state and federal government does.
Just like all the roads, lanes, cul-de-sacs, caminitos, boulevards, alleys, parkways, by-ways, interstates, tunnels, bridges, and winner of the most hilariously ironic name, Freeways. 
Yep. I said that because most people think the railroads pay for these improvements. They do not. Anything beyond the classic black and white Rail road Crossing X or Crossbuck sign is paid for by the government. That why it takes so long for many of these improvements to be made.
