When you set hue lights and you capture a scene, does it capture the color?
I am using the ABC app and when I 'cycle' through my scenes it does fine. But if I change the colors of the bulbs then it cycles just the levels and never changes the bulbs back to their colors (unless I manually set the colors).
Also - per the latest HE update - I understood that when you captured a scene it would poll the hue hub to get the current settings refreshed in HE. It doesn't seem to be working. I have to wait like 30 seconds before the values will change.
It does not "poll the hue hub". It does a device.refresh() on each device. However, this is pointless, as the app is going to capture the device state a millisecond later, and no device will have updated its state that quickly. So that "feature" will come back out of Scene. All Scene can do at capture-time is grab the state of the device as it is in the database at that instant. If it's not correct in the database, nothing can be done about that at that instant.
What about this part - if the color is green manually set then all the caputred scene does it change levels of green instead of the red color it that was captured.
Scene is going to set exactly what it shows in the app for the captured state. If you change the color to green, the Scene should show that it is not set (if the Scene has red captured). This may require a page refresh to be up to date on where the Scene is at.
Also, if for whatever reason after you capture a Scene, some value displayed is not what you want, you can adjust the Scene captured settings.
That is what I am saying - if my lights are red and blue at some level and a I capture it. ok
If I manually change my lights to say more "white" and then later try to activate the scene - they stay white - they just adjust their levels (to match whatever the capture was) but color stays white or whatever color.
That shouldn't be happening. Could you show the Scene that doesn't work correctly, and also take a screenshot of its app details page, the bottom half?
Not sure if this is what you were wanting. One thing of notice in the capture I don't see "color"
Also need the app details page, which you get by clicking on the circle i to the right of the app name on the apps page.
Everything there looks as it should. Next thing to look at are the device events from the device page. Activate the scene, and then show the events where it didn't set it to the right color.
Ok I will later tonight (daughter home from school and they like to spread their diseased sickness into our bed). So she is sleeping in our room rn.
Thank you.
So things have been a bit crazy here the last few days - I was able to capture with ease tonight so I am not sure what the deal was - but it wasn't capturing (or at least pushing) color changes out the other night.
Tonight I recaptured all the scenes and only one of them I had to wait about a minute for it to actually change values.
But when I tested it (set lights to "white") and then pico-pushed (is that a new word?) the scenes and they switched colors and brightness just fine - so RN I am happy!
