Capture alarm state

Newbie Day #4.
My alarm system has an add-on relay board so that when the alarm is sounding, the relay closes.

What is the most inexpensive way to get the information to Hubitat when the relay closes?

The Zooz ZEN17 should work for this kind of thing. Check its specs against yours to be sure:

There are probably others, but this came to mind first for me!

It looks like it would work fine, but it is kind of big, bulky, and expensive.

This would be the simplest. Has terminals you can wire across the contacts.

The pictures make it look kind of big, but it's only 4" wide. I'm not sure $28.95 USD is that much for a Z-Wave device, but Zooz has sales pretty often if you wanted to wait and see if it ever goes for less. Otherwise, others may have some ideas. This thing is probably overkill for your specific need -- it's just what came to mind! A Zigbee, Z-Wave, or other contact sensor could probably work for you too (assuming no voltage on your connection), but nearly all of those are battery powered and would require either opening it up to solder or the availability of external contacts (Aeon Door/Window Pro has some but costs way more than this; the Ecolink above is a popular choice but still requires a battery), so the ZEN17 is probably easier, IMHO.

The. ZEN51 and ZEN58 relays use dry contacts and are less than $20 on sale right now. The ZEN51 is small, but the ZEN58 is tiny.

I could not find either Zooz for $20, so I bought this from Amazon for $14.35 and I'm guessing I can open it up and hard wire to my relay contacts.

Philio 4-in-1 Slim Z-Wave Multisensor Motion, Door/Window Contact, Light and Temperature Sensor.

I would have just used a Zigbee wired leak sensor, cut the wire, and connected it to the relay. They are only about $5 on Ali Express.
