Help please! I've set up the localization on the hubitat browser. However, my phone app still tells me I'm out of geofence and there is no pin or circle of boundaries anywhere on the map. What am I doing wrong?
What version of Hub do you have and what firmware version is it on? What type of phone are you using?
Try logging out of the phone app and then back in again.
Did you go to your web admin and set your location. Under Settings>Localization?
I just got the system so I wanna say it's the C7 hub on firmware ver 2.3.0? I'm using a Galacy Note 8. I've already tried login out an on, even reinstalled the app and neither helped.
Yes I did. The original pin was way off but even after setting it to the correct location it still shows me as out of geofence.
Have you done the firmware updates, or is this just the out-of-the-box firmware?
Settings --> Hub Details --> Platform Version --> ?
I have done the firmware updates
Platform version is 2.3.0.113.
The thing is I don't even see a pin on the geofence map in the app.
I'm on 1.6.5 right now. I found another thread with people seemingly having the same issue with 1.6.4. How do I update it to 1.6.6?
1.6.5. v118, Android 11
So I did what people in the other thread said and reverted back to 1.6.3 and geofence is working now. I guess I'll wait till the next version before updating again.
Another update: Reverting back to 1.6.3 and then updating again made it work
First you need to understand the geofence alone is not 100 percent accurate. Currently it right about 85% of the time. I would strongly reccomend using it in conjunction with life 360 and / or Tasker. With being said make sure you don't have the battery optimized. Here is how my advance settings look.
Not, I'll add the disclaimer that I have not yet got my wife's phone working correctly. But that's just a matter if getting away from her and playing with it.
Currently I'm using The app, life 360, Tasker and Presence monitor. That combination hi es me about an 95-98% accuracy on my phone.
