I was replacing the batteries in an Ecolink z-wave plus motion detector. When it seemed like it might not be getting updates, I force removed it and attempted to add it again. However, I can't get it to exclude or include now. According to the instructions, I'm removing the battery and putting it in again after a 10-second delay to try to trigger inclusion/exclusion. Any ideas?
I should add that other battery-powered Ecolink devices, like the window sensors, work fine when I try to include/exclude them this way.
Have you tried again with a new battery? Perhaps the current one is drained (this seems even more likely to be the case if the original problem was the sensor not "updating" on Hubitat).
Yes. Brand new battery.
I think the updating issue was just the fact that these units apparently only post updates every four minutes to conserve battery.
Can you post a copy of your z-wave details page in it's entirety?
Thanks so much for your attention and willingness to help. I got impatient and happened to have a spare new sensor handy, so I ended up replacing it. Turns out the other sensors seem to be working still, after replacing the batteries. I think I just needed to be a little more patient waiting for status updates before deleting the device.
You may want to try powering off the hub, and then unplugging it for a min or two to let the zwave radio fully reset.
I have had a few occasions were strange stuff has been resolved by following that simple procedure.

Depending on how you initially force removed the device you may want to check and make sure you didn't accidentally create a ghost device. You may want to check your zwave details page to see if any have shown up.

@carl3 Yeah, as @brad5 said, force removing can be problematic. Post a current copy of your z-wave details page for us to look at.
i take out battery for a minute.. go close to hub and trun on exclude mode then insert battery
once excluded.. i have found i need to remove battery wait a minuite and redo for include
