Can't add Sensative Guard stripes

Hello to all,

I added 3 Sensative stripe Guard window contacts some time ago and they work as a charm. I now try to add 3 new ones and I can't get them to pair. At the first try I always get:

and the process get's stuck there. The sensor shows up nowhere. I tried to exclude the sensor and I got a message that unknown device has been excluded. Now when I try to add the sensor, I get 5 blinks on the sensor (not successful) and on Hubitat the process simply runs out of time.

Any idea ?

I just included a bunch of these myself, the new 700 series water sensors. It took a bit. I usually try to exclude a new sensor before I include it, which you did. You might also try resetting the sensor to the factory default. It's also not a bad idea to check your zwave details page and make sure you haven't inadvertently created some ghosts in the process. That'll cause issues.

@pascal.nohl Look in your z-wave details page for ghosts. 9 times out of 10 that's what's preventing inclusion.

Every time I try to add the device it gets stuck at initializing...

Then I have a ghost in Z-Wave

When I run the exclude procedure it excludes an unknown device, but the ghost persists and I have to click on the remove to delete it. After that, no more ghosts in the list.

Every time I start over, the same thing happens.

What firmware are you on?

i gave up on mine.. and tossed them .. just too much of a pain the keester with that stupid magnet..

Ok... Shut down hub from settings menu, disconnect power (at the wall, NOT the hub) for 5 mins and power back up and see if it works. (make sure you exclude before including and include right next to the hub)

Tried your hint and disconnected it even for 30 minutes from the power. I still get the same result when I try to add the sensor.

How close to the hub are you when you try?

At less than 50 cm when removing the magnets. I tried also to put the stripe directly on top of the hub but got the same result.

Just by curiosity, what is the difference from pulling the plug on the wall and by removing the cable from the hub ?

Weakness at the jack... It's a known issue, so its just recommended at the wall instead. Ok last ditch effort as it could be a corrupted database as no one else seems to have this issue. From the settings menu do a backup to your pc. Do a soft reset and then reapply from that backup when it comes back up. See if that fixes it for you. Beyond that I would put in an email ticket to @bobbyD @ support.hubitat.com . BTW Is it excluding properly?

Funny you should ask. I started this trend after I installed a Comcast router. In their troubleshooting guide, they say to pull the cable from the wall to power cycle the router. The reason behind is that the micro USB can wear out overtime.

Can you please open Logs in a new tab/window, then try to include the sensor again? When it times out, please share a screenshot of the Logs.

Here it is :

The hub logs page, not the zwave logs page.

The hub's log page shows strictly nothing.

Are you looking at it during or after?

Both
