I have seen a few topics on this but haven't seen a definitive answer.
I can access my hub via my pc browser at its ip address with no issue, but I can't access the hub directly from my phone or tablet. Everything is on the same network, and my tablet does not have a cellular connection.
I am able to use dashboards on both the phone and tablet. The app will find the hub and display the correct ip address, but when I click to connect to the hub it opens a page that says "This site can't be reached." I get the same message typing the address in a browser directly on the phone or tablet. It immediately responds with that message, like it isn't even trying to load.
Can you access other things on your local network from the tablet? Maybe a network printer admin interface or something comparable? Sounds like an odd problem if they're both really on the same network. Any parental controls or similar features on the tablet that might affect this, or some sort of "network reset" (or more) you could try on it?
I can access my printer interface just fine. And it is multiple tablets. Basically anything that isn't a pc can't access the hub directly. I can see all the lights and control them on the app. I can get to all of my dashboards with no problem on my phone and tablets.
I have tried both. The app sees the hub, but when I click on it it takes it to a page that says it can't be reached. Same message I get if I go to a browser and type in the ip address directly.
Guessing that your PC and the hub are wired connections and the tablet/phone ar WiFi - check to make sure that the WiFi can see all devices on the wired network.
Neither the PC or hub are wired. Everything was functional. I could see the hub on my router.
Update, I wired my hub in, and now it is accessible via wireless and wired from the pc, phones, and tablets. I still don't know what the issue was, but it seems it didn't like be wifi only.
