Cant access c4

I don’t really see the answer here. I have a C4 that will power on, but when I connected to my Internet hub, I cannot find it in the advanced search using the MAC address or IP address. I think there is a third option that I can’t remember it offhand. I don’t see any reset button or anything so I don’t know how to reset the device so I can continue using it. The C7 has been junk so I went to my grade back to a C5 and use the C-4 as the mesh

Use advanced port scanner to find it on your network

That said, what about the c7 has been junk? It works well for the majority of us (unless there is an actual hardware issue)

try http://hubitat.local and http://hubitat-2.local

Generallly speaking the C7 should be the same as the C5 for Zigbee and automations. They are the same except the Zwave chip. The C4 is usually a step backwards, they don't run as smooth as the newer hubs.

There is some reason you are having issues, it isn't normal for the C7 (or any version of the hub for that matter) to be falling offline or locking up. I see you posted on that other thread, but you probably should start a new one and try to get to the root of the problem.

If you have a device that has gone bad, for example, if you move it to the C5 or C4, you could just be bringing that issue to the other hub. If you have a misconfigured rule or an integration slamming the hub, same thing you are just headed for frustration.

We would be willing to take a look at the C7 issues, and maybe save you a whole bunch of work.

Try pressing the hidden network reset button, in the hole in the back, use a wooden pointy toothpick, it get's the network going again

The C3/C4 hubs do not have the hidden network reset button.

Sort of, I think... So either Mike or Bruce would need to confirm if it does anything. I thought I had seen a button on the C4 , but you're right, no hole in back, but there is a button hidden at the end of the AV port, you can click it with a toothpick or other non conductive materials. The AV port is hollow and the toothpick goes right through to the button

Interesting.

I recall early on in 2018, there was a “reset procedure” for the C3/C4 that involved inserting a properly formatted microSD card in the hub, with maybe a special file on it, which would cause the hub to perform a reset. However, once the Hub Diagnostic Tool was added, that became the standard method of resetting things. I do not ever recall anyone ever posting anything about the hidden button you’ve discovered.
