I run three hubs in a mesh – Two are used to connect to devices and one is used as a “controller.” This “controller” hub manages my 3rd party integrations, rules, and dashboards.
I updated all three hubs to the latest platform version last night. Today, I cannot connect to the “Controller” hub (using MS Edge). The FindMyHub utility “sees” all three hubs and I can connect to the other two hubs. When I try to connect to the “controller” hub, the connection times out.
I have attempted to reset the hub by unplugging both he power and network for several minutes, but this has not helped. Also tried the IPAddress:8081 option but it still times out.
FindMyHub updates about every 24 hours, so if the IP address changed, it will take a while.
If hub light is green, it's most likely up and running, and should appear in router's "connected devices" page. If it does not appear in the list, please try a different network cable.
Thank you for the quick response! I've confirmed the IP addresses are correct - The FindMyHub utility "sees" all the hubs at the correct IPs (verified with my router) but will not connect to the IP for the "controller" hub. When I tried the "Hubitat*.local as suggested, I get the same result. I can connect to two of the hubs (-2 and -3), but connection to the third ("controller" hub) times out.
Do you mind sharing what color the LED is shown on your "controller" hub? Based on details you've shared, your hub may have dropped off the network. I would perform basic network troubleshooting: make sure that the router isn't blocking hub's access to the network, replace the Ethernet cable, reset hub's network settings if you have assigned a static IP. Hopefully this is not a case of a hardware malfunction such as failed Ethernet port. If you need further assistance, you can send me a private message.
Thank you all for taking the time to help me with this issue. Looks like the switch this hub was plugged into is failing. I plugged the hub into another switch on my network and that appears to have resolved the problem. With highest regards - J
