I have a Fibaro Single switch, that i want to act as a momentary button for a garage door.
According to Vesternet, i need to change parameter 4, to a value of 10 to make it toggle for 1 second.
I have a multimeter on the fibaro, on the Q, and L.. and it's currently closed. when i push a button, it opens correct.. but stays that way,
I have 2 problems.
Firstly, i installed the basic parameter changer, (mikes) however, it doesn't appear to work.
According to another post on here.. i would need to
'' Change driver to this tool, save driver, hit configure, set parameters & save, change driver back, save driver, hit configure. ''
I can change the driver to the tool. save the driver, and i have a parameter Box, to enter values.
it then says hit configure.. but i have no configure button at this point.. i only have a configure button, when i change it back to a 'Fibaro Switch'
If i enter parameter data, then save, then check logs.. there is no entry.. nada.
The second issue that i have is that when i use the tool, to report on the current paraments, it does not show a paramater 4. they start at 9
There is no "Configure" command in the Basic Z-Wave Tool, so I'm not sure where you found those instructions or what they meant.
What you should do is find the parameter number, size, and value you need according to the device manual, then use the "Set Configuration Parameter" command to change that parameter. To execute the command, click the "Set Configuration Parameter" button itself to execute the command (after you've put in the values). You won't see anything else happen, but you can check "Logs" for more information if you want (and if you want to be extra-sure, you could do a "Get Configuration Report" and provide that parameter number as the parameter to see what it is set to).
If you aren't sure about those values, it sounds like you've got someone above willing to help.
You can then switch back to your desired driver. I would normally avoid the usual advice to hit "Configure" at this point if your regular driver offers such a command (there's no need, and with some it might overwrite the change you just made, though probably not if it's something the driver doesn't even know about). Maybe that's when you saw this advice?
There may also be a driver written specifically for your device that offers this parameter as part of the regular preferences in the UI, or perhaps the driver you're using already does. I am not familiar with built-in or user drivers for this device, however.
