Cannot change my email address as documented

There was a good thread documenting how to do this. I logged in and created the new email user (email I need to use now) and tried to replace the admin user as documented. The system tells me that I cannot do that because I have an active subscription on that address. I cancelled the subscription to the Hubitat service and it has been in a "pending cancellation" state since.

I really would like to keep these services and simply want to change my email. Please help.
