Canless RGBW lighting?

I put one in last week. They are super thin. The box does need to be stashed in the ceiling, but I can't think of a situation where that would be a problem.

The Kurvia ones have been working fine so far. Much cheaper than Phillips and comes in a 4" size.

This nice thing about the Hues is that they're the completely flat wafer style so you can put your lights anywhere on the ceiling, even directly under a joist. Other designs require the light or can to be offset to the side any joists or beams.

Just wanted to follow up on these new Phillips lights for anyone browsing this thread later. Everything about them looks attractively "slim" ...just as their title suggests.

However, it's worth noting the picture from the manual of how they should be installed and it suggests a bit more space "laid out in the ceiling" than what one might think looking at the advertising picture. Still, a very nice...but pricey...light module.
