I can’t for the life of me figure out how to register this darn hub to my email. Nor can I figure out how to message the magical BobbyD to help me. Hellllllp please.
You can fill out a warranty claim to get support.
The easiest way is to put an @ symbol in front, i.e. @bobbyD
What step in the Getting Started process are you stuck?

If you purchased a used hub, it may still be registered to the previous owner. Sometimes, Amazon is also known to ship out previously returned hubs, which were registered.
If you purchased your hub from Amazon, let @bobbyD know, and he’ll arrange to ship you an unregistered new hub in exchange for the one that should not have been resent by Amazon to a customer.
Yes it is! It’s registered to an email I have never seen before! @BobbyD can you help me out please?
It’s as someone said. There is an email address registered to the hubby don’t recognize, so I feel that will be my first road block.
It’s got someone else’s email registered to it. Can we fix this or do I need a new one?
You might also try emailing the previous owner and ask if they would de-register the hub.
Where did you purchase the hub from? From Amazon or a third-party reseller on some site like eBay?
@bobbyD can help you easily if you purchased your hub from Amazon or directly from Hubitat.
Amazon also fulfills direct orders from Hubitat and has been known to “accidentally” ship out previously returned hubs.
As @aaiyar mentioned above, if you purchased the hub as used, try reaching out the the seller and ask them to log into my.hubitat.com then to go to Registered Hubs and select "de-register hub".
If you accidentally received a returned hub via Amazon, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. They are not supposed to ship returned hubs. Either way, please see my private message for additional details.
It cost me $300 from Amazon and no where did it say refurbished. I was led to believe it was new. I shouldn’t have to chase some random person through email….it should never have been registered to anyone else.
This app has not been kind to me, and I can’t figure out how to private message you. I have tried multiple times.
No absolutely, you do not need to chase the person who registered the hub initially. Only if you knowingly purchased the hub used from eBay or another third-party seller website, would that be recommended. Please see my private message for more details. We would like to send you a replacement hub right away, to make sure the hub isn't compromised in any way.
AMAZING! Lets do it. Tell me what you need me to do.
Think he already did.
