Hi all
I need to separate my devices as I have many Xiaomi ones that are losing connectivity due to me needing to use different smart outlets with power management and don't play nicely with Xiaomi.
So I'm planning on getting another hubitat hub and have one with all the Xiaomi devices and ikea repeaters and the other hub for everything else. What I don't know is if it's possible to get rules working across them. For example, can I have a trigger of a device on Hub1 that will then action a device on Hub2. Is that possible and, if so, is it easy enough or will I pull my hair out. I'm hoping as easy as with my Hue hub and I control all from one interface even though the device is sitting elsewhere.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Alan
You can use Hub Mesh to link devices on one hub to the other. I would recommend picking one hub to host all of the rules (Hub A) then share all of the devices on other hub (Hub B) to Hub A. Then, you are not sharing all of the devices on Hub A to Hub B and all of the devices on Hub B to Hub A. After sharing, the devices have an unusual naming convention for the Device Name and it is locked but you can change the Device Label to your choice. I actually add a chainlink emoji
to the end of all of my devices linked from another hub so I know that the device actually exists on another hub.
Thanks and good idea on the emoji
