I've got an app that updates my thermostat temp reading based on external temp sensors. I want to make the app use different temp sensors depending on [presence / contact / time of day] conditions.
Can Rule Machine change the device(s) used by an app?
Not directly... 
But... you could use a virtual temperature sensor in your App. Then, in Rule Machine, you could update that virtual temperature with whatever real temperature sensor you'd like based on whatever logic you come up with.
Thanks for the response - I'm going to have to noodle on this some more.
I'm already using many virtual temp sensors to average together real devices around the house and those updates are happening live. Not sure I want a rule to fire every minute to set a 'master' virtual temp sensor when the values are already in other virtual temp sensors.
