Can I bring sensors from my Aqara hub into Hubitat?

I use the Aqara hub but I’m looking to get water leak sensors

Aqara devices can be a bit fussy what they will work nicely alongside if you have zigbee devices from other brands connected. They worked ok for me on a second hub for themselves, linked via hubmesh but not combined on one single hub

I had nothing but trouble with Aqara motion sensors linked directly to HE. Didn’t want to buy the Aqara hub so I switched to Tuya which work great.

I have no experience with Aqara leak sensors.

When you say "bring" do you mean integrate them but leave them on the Aqara hub? Or remove them from the Aqara hub and add them to the HE hub?

You can do the latter, but it's a YMMV situation as noted above...for some folks they can work well, for others they can repeatedly fall off the mesh. I'm using them on two hubs (C8 and C7) and have Aqara motion and leak sensors and they work fine for me.

So if you want add Aqara leak sensors to your HE hub and not your Aqara hub, then buy w/an option to return and get a refund just in case...

If the former is your goal (integrate Aqara hub w/HE) I'm not aware any Aqara hub integrations, so I think your out of luck there.

You can also bring Aqara devices into HE from Home Assistant, via the HE integration Home Assistant Device Bridge (HADB), if you use the Home Assistant platform.

If they are Zigbee you can pair directly to HE, there are mixed results since they do not play nice with all other devices.

If they are Wifi devices and you want to pair the Aqara hub to HE, that is a no right now. Once a Matter bridge driver is created then you should be able to pair the Aqara hub to HE as a matter device over the LAN.

FWIW I have no issues using the community driver for Aqara devices AND the Tuya ZB 3.0 repeaters.
Had terrible issues with the Ikea outlet/repeaters.

@frmWink2Hubitat We need more information.

  1. Which Aqara hub?
  2. Which Hubitat hub do you have?
  3. Are you interested in trying to join them directly to a Hubitat hub?
  4. Would you be interested in adding Home Assistant to handle the devices, and then using Home Assistant Device Bridge to bring their state back into Hubitat for automation?

Number one requires an Aqara M2 hub, and the Matter update, Plus, you will need a C8 hub. Matter will not be supported on earlier hubs.

Keep in mind that Matter is very new, and you will possibly have issues with Matter itself, and potentially very limited options from the devices. Option number three or number four will give you the most flexibility without question. Option four is what I personally use, and I also use Zigbee2MQTT on Home, Assistant, which ensures that I have the maximum number of devices compatible, and maximum options available for those devices .

This is the way.
