C8 to C8-Pro Migration fail

I updated my email address within C8 before creating the migration download. Everything (all interactions) worked well.
Just migrated from C8 to C8-Pro. C8 had no problems reported during the setup or download, used the "migration tool", all happened without error. Except Dashboards on the phone and within Hubitat do not work. Devices and apps all appear, automations work, manual control of dashboard devices does not.
Also, do I need to do something to reconnect with Alexa?
Also do I need to do anything to reconnect Apple Home?
lso, do I need to do anything to reconnect Matter devices such as "Switchbot"

It's been a long time since I've done a migration, ao I'm not sure what the "migration tool" you mention is, but did you follow these instructions exactly?

yes. I used the "migration tool" built into the Hub settings. The one that says, "

"

OK, but that's just one of the steps in the documentation I linked above. For a successful migration, it's important that all of those steps are reviewed and accomplished.

I recommend reading through that linked guide before just jumping headfirst into it.

Thank you. I read it several times and watched the video tutorial a couple times before starting, and again step by step through the process.

Were they working before the migration? Did you upgrade to the most recent hub platform version before migrating, and if it was right before migrating, did you check after that? Asking because there were some Dashboard changes that sound like they might be related to what you are seeing. I believe they were resolved in the latest build. But if they were broken before, even just right before, a migration isn't going to fix anything.

If it's just in the app (check the admin UI on your hub to verify they are actually working normally), you could try re-selecting the hub in the app (that's actually part of the instructions above) or signing out and signing back in, selecting your migrated-to hub as part of that process.

The mobile app doesn't show apps, so I'm not sure what you mean. (If you're using "Connect to hub" to get to the admin UI of the hub, you don't need the mobile app for that -- IMHO, it really gets in the way if anything -- but is the place I mentioned above to check for Dashboard functionality if you are not aware of the difference. Use findmyhub.hubitat.com from a device on the same network to get there if you don't know how any other way.)

Possibly; as noted in the documentation:

Cloud integrations may need to be re-authorized to function again.

This includes Alexa.

I don't think I've heard of problems with this (and it's not clear: are you having any?). All the data should be in your backup, even a local one. But it's possible it looks at the hub ID or something that may have changed as a result of migrating.

Same as the above.

Thank you. Let me try again. I have a C8 that has been working well. I use Alexa for voice control and some interactions with WIFI devices. And, I have Apple Home (HomeKit, if you prefer) assisting with Matter devices. I have WiFi, matter, zigbee and z-wave devices. Some things operate via voice command, some operate via various triggers, (motion, time, presence, etc...), some by mode or time of day or week. These are the "apps" (ie. rule machine, basic rules, motion lighting, etc) I mentioned. All of these integrations were flawless. Always work, all the time, rare was the exception.
I performed a backup on the C8, then performed the "Migration tool web backup" to migrate to the C8-Pro.
As nothing was broken, I decided to "fix" it anyway by buying and moving to a C8-Pro. I followed the steps listed, as described, using the tools provided and incorporated into the devices. On my iPhone I had a dashboard, not fancy, but functional, which was also flawless in execution.
After the migration (again, following the directions listed above) The dashboard, with all the devices loaded on my iPhone, after finding the new IP address, but would not control any devices. The dashboard, also with everything listed as before, could be found and opened on the laptop (again, after entering the new IP address), but no device would respond to commands there either. Also, Alexa and Apple Home (HomeKit) listed all the devices (also after reconnecting the services) exactly as before but there was no device response from any commands.
I tried shutting the C8-Pro hub down, through the device itself, then removing the power, waiting then powering back up. This made no difference.
Some of the "apps", the timed, scheduled, automations triggered by various events did seem to function. For example, one room has a z-wave motion detector that triggers the light to come on when someone enters the room. That worked.
I apologize if my original post seemed unclear or left out some details. It was written quickly, as I panicked having dismantled months of painstaking detailed work to near perfection for now no apparent reason, and with some degree of shorthand expecting people could make some assumptions about terminology, without being to picky or legalistic. I was just trying to quickly get some advice if anyone else encountered some trick or quirk I was overlooking.
You guys have a great product and have always been very supportive.

I know it's frustrating when migration doesn't go as planned - I had my own issues moving to my 8 series back in the early days of the migration capability.

In your most recent response, I didn't see an answer to this question from Robert, and it's an important one...

This dashboard upgrade sounds like the issue. I did not upgrade to that as I don't care for those changes. So, not upgrading sounds as the problem.
Thank you all.

OK, so the answer is actually no. You would have failed in the "Preparing Your Old Hub" section before the first step:

  1. Ensure your current ("old") hub:
    • is running the latest platform version from Settings > Check for Updates.
    • is not exhibiting any problems with apps or devices

(The doc again: How to Migrate to a New Hub | Hubitat Documentation)

I don't recall HomeKit or Matter issues after migration before, so I'm not sure what's going on there (it's possible you'd need to re-pair things, but I don't remember that coming up before; they should come along with even a local backup, but both are reliant on mDNS and might be subject to pecularities of your home network).

For Dashboards and other mobile app issues, I suspect the above steps could help. Reverting to the old hub, assuming everything still work there, should also, and then you can try again sometime if you want.

Thanks bertabcd1234 for your explanation concerning the dashboard issue. As you explained about upgrading the dashboard and having issues there, that explains my situation and most likely the cause.
I have reverted to my C8. It's perfect. All is working well now.
Thank you all.

If the new hub has a different IP number (very likely) you could have entered some IP numbers into some apps, drivers and dashboards.
