When I have my C8 hub arm, it does not alert me that 'must-close' sensors are not closed like my C4 used to. I believe I configured everything similarly.
Last night I went to bed with my backdoor inadvertently propped open. I confirmed that the device showed OPEN at 19:47 and I armed the system for night at 20:31. It should have told me I had something open but it did not and I went on my merry way.
Also, when I click on the device (Back door sensor) open event, the date it shows in the pop up details is not the same as in the Events table. Attached are SS of that...
In your second screenshot, it looks like that is showing the current time in the popup rather than the actual event time. Tagging @gopher.ny to take a look at that. (This is on the "Events" page for device, clicking the "Date" column text, in case it's not clear.)
For your other problem, I tried this with a simple setup and think I saw the issue if I didn't have a text or a device configured for the "Configure Alerts for Arming Failures and Bypass Warnings" option. Does this apply to your setup? This might be intentional (maybe making sure you have a way to know if it didn't really arm?), or it could be an oversight (perhaps a check that is skipped under certain conditions, at least this one). Not sure if you see a different pattern.
Yep, you were right...there is no text that I set for " Configure Alerts for Arming Failures and Bypass Warnings (contacts open)"...thank you! I guess I missed this as I was migrating from the C4.
Good to know! I'll still tag @bravenel to see if this is intentional and document if it is. (Arming even if it's not a "bypass" sensor when no notification device or notification text for arming failures is configured.)
Ideally, I'd like the system NOT to arm itself if anything is holding it up...just my preference because then I'll be able to trigger my own action. Maybe it already does this and my using the Apple Home App to check doesn't work as I thought.
