C8 on WiFi

I am trying to switch a C8 from wired to wifi but it does not want to cooperate. I AM able to join the wifi network and I DO have a static reservation in my router.

After joining wifi I get the message "Do not just unplug Ethernet cable while hub is running. Please shut Ethernet down first." When I click the link I get the spinning circle and nothing. Before clicking the link the hub pings on both wired and wifi IP addresses. After clicking the link neither IP ping.

I have tried unplugging the C8 and waiting a minute then plugging back in with wired NOT connected. The hub appears to boot (blue then green LED) but neither IP ping and I cannot get to the web page. If I then plug in the wired connection BOTH IPs will come up, ping, and respond via web.

The WiFi connection will have a different MAC than the wired connection so the DHCP reservation on your router will be ignored due to the mismatch.

mac was accounted for. i have 3 C8s, each has res for wired mac and for wifi mac. reservations have separate IPs (as they must).

it is very weird - they will just not finish the task of "shut down Ethernet". they get hung at that point and pulling power (yeah, i know, not ideal), waiting a minute then powering back up - if the wired is connected BOTH IPs will come up. If the wired is NOT connected neither IP comes up.

can you connect to the diagnostic port 8081 and reboot/shutdown from there?

no place in diagnostic port to "shutdown ethernet" just shutdown hub - which works already up until i click the link to shutdown the ethernet. at that point all access to the hub ceases until power is removed and applied.
