C8 no longer responding

Hi all,

I've had my C8 running well since March. Pretty maintenance free. Last night I noticed that some lights failed to turn on. When I tried to log into my iOS app (old app), the app was extremely sluggish and eventually after I connected, it errored with a "corrupt database" error. After browsing these forums as well as Reddit, I've gone down the road of doing multiple soft resets via the diagnostic portal (for 8081 and MAC address) and no luck. I downloaded all the backup files just to be sure but soft reset, rolling back firmware, unplugging for 10+ minutes all result in the same thing: the startup of the hub getting stuck at 60% (starting UPnP). It was stuck there all night until the morning.

What more can I do? I don't see a factory reset button on the C8 and I would have thought this device would last longer than 5 months right?

Thanks all!

Go to the port 8081 Diagnostics Menu, and select Restore Previous Version. That should let you get to the normal UI and re-upgrade.

I did that last night as well. Same issue.

I've currently got it sitting without power and ethernet. I plan to let it sit that way for an hour to make 1000% sure everything powered down before trying again.

Let’s loop in the @support_team, but I’d also go Warranty Claims and get that on file also.

Thanks for the quick feedback. It appears letting it sit for a good 45+ minutes did the trick. It booted up like new and let me restore from a backup. I think we're back up and running...
