C8 migration problems

Hello,
I did the C8 upgrade because I thought the ext antennas wohld get better range; I have a couple od lights that sometimes fail to come on as sxheduled.

I did the migration this am. I have about 10 devices that are programmed to come on toward the evening. 80% of them did not. They all respond to manual override.

Have I got a defective C8, or what?

Unlikely, sounds like a device or mesh issue what devices are they?

@essin Can you post your z-wave details page?

Sengled bulbs, outlets
Sylvania outlet
Leviton outlet
All zigbee

ALL the late night apps failed. All devices that shoulbe be off now are on.

Guess I still have 1 zwave

ALL devices (6) failed to turn off

Now NONE of the devices respond to manual on/off at all

I physically poerr-cycled each device and now they are responding to manual control again.
Should I just revert to the C7? or what?

???, meaning they work from the device details page?

Please check the notification in the upper right corner. I sent you a message to gather more details.

yes

Things have totally melted down and I don't know what to do next.
This is what has happened.
1 - All of the nighttime automatons that are supposed to turn things off have not worked two nights in a row.
2 - I concluded that I should have never rocked the boat by upgrading to the C8.
3 - I shut down the C8 and reconnected the C7.
4 - At this point NOTHING works:
I can't control individual bulbs or outlets - they just don't respond
The device screen status (on/off) does not match the physical state of the device
None of the Lutron integrations with pico work (some not at all, others strangely
For example, I have 3 Sengled bulbs on one pico. Sending OFF, turns off two of them
but I have to send the OFF a second time to turn off the third.

This thing is now a total train-wreck and I am totally lost about what to do.
Do I need to reset every sengled device?
Does that mean have to use the replace device function on on each?
Do I need to go back, figure out how I did the Lutron integrations and do it all over again?
Or what?

Please help!

Please check your email. Also, I would shut down C-7 and bring the C-8 online. The problems you've reported are likely easy to correct. There is nothing systematically wrong with your C-8 hub itself, that might force you to go back to your C-7, at least not based on the details you've shared.

I've been discussing the with BobbyD but maybe someone else has an Idea what's wrong.

At first, theproblem was that the migration set the time-zone to GMT, instead of what should have been saved in the backup. That explained why all the on-times were wrong but there remains a bigger problem.

It's now 9:30am. 5 devices were on at midnight and all were supposed to switch off overnight. NONE switched off. Also, the front door, that was supposed to switch off at 9:00pm did NOT.

It can't be a repeater issue because I can switch them off manually and they all respond instantly.

The good news is the C8 responds faster than the C7.

The bad news is that the automations are screwed up.

I'm frustrated. I clearly can't go back (that was a mess) but I have no idea how to go forward. Of the 28 devices, I only use 5 pico's by physically touching them. 12 are controlled only by apps.

The system is only marginally useful if the automations don't work.

How do I fix this?

After you made changes to the location yesterday, have you clicked "Save Settings"? It sounds like the changes were not applied. Please review/post screenshot of the times section (not the top portion that has unique identifiers of your hub). Also, please share a screenshot of the app schedules as indicated in my last email yesterday (go to Apps, then select the gear icon next to the app you'd like to check, then scroll down to "Scheduled Jobs" section).

The gear icons on the left? Or the gear icon at the jpper-right of each section?
If it's the ones on the right (section) there are no scheduled jobs for basic rules, dimmer button controller, simple automation rules or button controller.

If it's the ones on the left, you want 20 screenshots? Of just the scheduled jobs section, or the whole page?

Well, screen this many screenshots is a pain and this site doesn't allow uploading a document so here is the destroyed version of my nicely formatted doc file that looked like screenshots would.

I also don't quite understand the cron format. The ? is not standard and it appears that hubitat keeps rewriting the crontab after every run in some of the apps which confuses me.

Thanks, just wanted to see the one you had problems with, to make sure the schedule was correct. Time looks good, schedule looks good. If something else happens tonight, could you please post the app's log entries for the time the device didn't turn on/off as expected?

Also, you can use this site to validate the cron schedule:

OK, I will see what happens tonight.

I used the crontab site earlier because I'd never seen a? In a crontab line before. Crontabs only have 5 entries so I still don't understand the? . Probably that's irrelevant but loose-ends bother me

Thanks
