C8 is there a reason Ecolink battery water etc sensors are not populating routes

is there a reason with the c8 that these are taking a long time to populate a route?.. Even after forcing an event by opening closing cover etc. The route is not showing in the zwave details..

ie.

@bobbyD

Battery powered devices take a little longer to show routes, but they seem to be communicating fine. It was about 36 hours before all of my devices had routes and the mesh seemed to stablize.

i understand that but it seems like a bug. obviously there is a route .. it is comunicating and shows a route in zwave logs, so trying to figure out why the hub is not populating the route internally.

I never asked, but assumed that it wanted a couple of iterations before accepting it as a publishable route.

I'm seeing similar with my battery powered Fibaro Motion sensors, Aeotec Door Contact and Neo Coolcam Contact (about 9 devices total). All are showing just one neighbour after 24 hours.

The route is displayed route is generated from a packet that is sent from the hub.. So for battery powered devices this only happens during a wakeup.. The default wakeup is set to 12 hours..

aha thankyou that makes sense so it requires a special packet during wakeup not just any traffic..

I saw that (empty route data on the Z-Wave page) with several devices during the first two days after the transition. Now they are all showing routes (and most of them are direct).

I have several water sensors that are blank.
I just tested one and it works, so that's a good thing.

Same... 3 are blank but still work.

even with opening and closing the covers on mine two of them never checked in and never had a zwave route even after a week and 3 new f.w versions. with reboots

i actually had to remove and reinstall the batteries in them to get them to check in and get a route in the zwave info..

I just checked the table. All thirteen of my leak sensors have routes now!
Maybe it was the button....just joking. :slight_smile:

edit: Only blank one now is the tilt sensor for the garage bay, which I don't use too much.
