I currently have a C8 that already has a device connected to it and I'm trying to connect another one. The first time that it wouldn't connect I had to full reset my hub and it finally connected. However, I don't want to do another full reset since I already have a device connected. It's a Bticino 4141PC smart plug, I keep factory resetting it but it still won't connect. The device are not even 3 feet apart, so it's definitely not a range issue. Is it common for a C8 to not be consistent at finding Zigbee devices?
I’m not seeing Bticino on the list of compatible devices:
Devices that aren’t on the list can be very inconsistent, so the behaviour you are seeing is not unusual in that case. There are a couple of other options available for pairing Zigbee on the C-8. See if one of them helps.
Another thing that may help is using the “Reboot Radio” and/or the “Rebuild Network” commands from the Settings -> Zigbee Details menu before trying to pair the next device.
If you do use the "Rebuild network" command it's a good idea to follow it w/the "Reboot Radio" command.
The two options that Sebastien is referring to are on the Zigbee pairing screen, alway do a reset on the Zigbee device before you try to pair it.
Worst Part is that sometimes it does connect, and then sometimes the device's mood is just "nah I'm not working today" which on one hand very girlboss of you but on the other hand I need to work here.
So should I realistically tell my boss that this won't be properly integrated into an already existing system?
Devices that are not on the supported list may work perfectly, but also, as you are seeing, may not work consistently.
