Make sure you also switch the hub to DHCP, if you have both static on the hub and a DHCP reservation it can sometimes cause issues.
Switched the hub to DHCP and set the static IP on the router. Hub is happy now. Green light solid
My C8 as well. I believe it started blinking with 2.3.9.150, and it persisted after upgrading to 2.3.9.157
Static IP on ethernet.
Thanks.
"Thanks" = the info above helped you solve your problem, or "Thanks" = I need help? ![]()
If you're still having problems, which, if any, of the steps noted above have you tried?
Thanks, itβs still flashing and hopefully someone is looking at it. If I can help with providing logs, or additional info, LMK.
And the answer to this question is?
I have one hub doing this as well. It started when i set a static ip on the hub. If i use a dhcp reservation instead it doesn't happen.
The hub works fine though so i wouldn't worry to much about it.
As someone said, it doesnβt flash red/green with DHCP. But it does flash with a static IP over ethernet, which was working fine until recently.
But I think that is the question. Is this just the behavior of the led now when a static ip is set in the network configured for some reason or is it really a sign of a problem. My old C8 that is doing this as a test with a static IP on the device is working fine. It would be nice if @bobbyD could confirm if this is ok or indicative of a problem. I know in my setup there isn't a IP conflicts as I used a IP in a range I don't allow dhcp have setup for DHCP.
hi there, same issue here, static IP over ethernet, WiFi detected, performed soft reset, rebooted several times, no change, still flashing green/red, I haven't touched hub or changed anything apart of update to version 2.3.9.158, any help appreciated, thank you
So my question still remains. Is this actually a problem or just something unexpected. It is certainly different then what we are use to, but is there any issue being created by it?
It is for sure a bug, the red/green flash is supposed to indicate the hub is disconnected. Something with that seems to be broken for static IPs. So it is a problem and likely an annoyance. But is it impacting any functions of the hub? probably not based on past feedback.
So I think the better question is, @Pietro does the hub otherwise work fine, or is the red/green flashing causing other side effects of the hubs functions?
The easy fix is to set that same IP as a DHCP reservation on your router, then switch the hub to DHCP. If this is not possible then you just have to deal with the LED flashing until HE fixes it.
That is pretty much what I ment. I don't doubt that it isn't the same and isn't what we all expect. I just didn't think we were actually seeing issues. Either way I haven't seen an official response from support. If the light going red is supposed to indicate a disconnection, then at the least something is off.
Hi guys, I haven't noticed an issue, just I thought, that according to documentation, there might be some problem with LAN connection as described. But so far so good, so just flashing - but it is a bug for sure as many users reported the same after update.
All devices connected properly, ping to host, gateway and also traceroute are just fine.
Just a minute ago updated to ver. 2.3.9.160 - still same situation. Updated from 2.3.9.158
Thank you guys for your effort, much appreciated.
HE needs to fix the flashing LED, of course. But is there a reason you don't want to set a DHCP reservation on your router for the hub as suggested above? That's generally preferred for network devices anyway...
Of course, you can just keep things as they are if you prefer to use the hub fixed IP setting and wait for a fix...no harm other than thinking you're looking at a crazy traffic light... ![]()
Thank you all
I gave up - turned to DHCP, now blinking gone... I can live with that...
Thanks again, much appreciated.
Nice. You'll be happier in the long run... ![]()
As reported elsewhere I have this issue - flashing red/green but accessible and working normally. Cabled connection, DHCP.
