Nope... Your DHCP cache is handled by your router...
If you don’t have your router and switches on a UPS, I strongly suggest adding one.
Particularly if you use PoE to power additional devices like your Hubitat hubs.
I’m not that familiar with powerwall, but I’m assuming like a regular generator there’s a brief pause after utility power dies and it transitions to backup?
Getting away from the original antenna subject, but I have read, somewhere, that's the case. I recently tested my TalentCell battery, (they call it 27000 mah, I think-it was popular here a year and a half ago or so), with my C7 and WIFI router. I got 5 days out of the battery with the C7 and 16 hours with the router. It's seamless-no relays, long lasting, not too expensive, but dumb. I've got two more on the way-one for the router and one for the modem. Who know if there's really any value added.
When It first was installed that was the case (maybe the 2 or 3 incidents), most of the time I don't even notice until I get the notification from the Tesla App. Any thing inside the house would really just be redundant back up. I will take a look at that , thanks!
I was looking at the TalentCell model. I was looking to power my C8, Pi, Modem, Router and a small 4 port switch (even if I needed 2). That would've allowed me to get notifications of power fail from my alarm system at which point I could gracefully shutdown the Pi and C8. Unfortunately I recently swapped my router for a Unifi Dream Router that's mains powered so I'll have to get a big ■■■ UPS now.
The last couple outrages, there was no noticeable interruption. Wi-Fi, hubs, TV, Rokus all kept humming along without a hiccup. But I am probably going to add a UPS in the near future just for redundancy.
Could be that the transfer to battery is very fast, if your WiFi didn’t even blink.
I installed solar panels on my roof last year, but powerwall currently is never cleared for residential installations where I live. Which is annoying.
I’m hoping to be able to install in the future.
The first couple time the power wall kicked in, there was a noticeable transition, but in the last few months I wouldn't have even known if I hadn't gotten the notification from the Tesla App.
Once I get my C8 transition smothed out, i'm going to look at @snell tesla app and try and get it into Hubitat.
For the record I think the issues I am having with the transition are more a product of how I have things set up than any issues with the hub itself.
That wouldnt work , I need regular outlets for the router and POE switch, unless i'm missing something.
I'm doing 12vdc and usb, so no, not for you.
