Why do I get this in my C8 settings 192.168.0.105 (Ethernet) 192.168.0.56 (WiFi)
But only this in my C8 pro settings
192.168.0.42 (Ethernet)

Looks like your C8 has both interfaces running. As this is not advised I'd suggest shutting down the WiFi interface (removing the SSID usually works IIRC).
I tried to remove it and it returned instantly
Are you sure you have a working Ethernet connection to the hub?
(And since your issue doesn't appear to actually be solved yet, probably want to remove the Solution checkmark for now)>
Yes it has a working ethernet connection also it has a different MAC address to the ethernet in my router/modem
In my advanced ip scanner they both have the same MAC address
It’s probably using the WiFi to connect to the LAN then.
My router modem says the MAC address is not a valid address
If they’re both really [192.168.0.42] then you have a duplicate IP problem also
One ip address ends in 0.105, the other in 0.56 the latter being the wifi
Sorry but my error in o/p, C8 pro is on 0.42 the C8 is on 0.105 and 0.56
I believe @zapbust just clarified it’s a typo in the OP
You might try hitting the “disconnect WiFi” button in the hub’s network settings menu and then pushing the (physical) hidden button on the bottom of the hub to get the hub to reboot with default network settings.
That would hopefully get the hub to request an IP address through its Ethernet connection.
Have you set any DHCP reservations for the C8 hub in the router’s settings menu?
I hit the "disconnect wifi" and the wifi has gone from the settings and appears to have gone from my router/modem as well, I've not rebooted my router modem yet though
Its been like that for ages, I thought me putting some wifi/matter bulb were the cause but noticed today that I've also got some on my C8 pro and forgot they were on a different hub
Well I've waited a while and its not returned so thanks very much for your help
