C7 Device rebooted on its own several times overnight

I emailed support@hubitat.com and got a response that it an unmonitored mailbox, so trying here.

Hi there, I seem to be experiencing random reboots on my device. I honestly don't think anything changed but noticed the reboots started on April 2nd, so I went back to a backup on April 1st and still have the reboot issues. Other things I have done AFTER the restore of the April 1st restore to try and further mitigate issues:

  • Upgraded to the most recent version of code.

  • Updated community apps Hub Information Driver, Home Assistant v2.

  • Disabled Hub Information Driver (as I noticed it was high on the Drivers/Apps list)

  • Refreshed HubMesh on both Primary (C7 - the one with issues) and LAN (C5 - not experiencing issues)

  • Power cycled device (removed power and put it back)

  • I now have the device connected to a switch with a span port so I can sniff traffic since I've had network device issues prior.

Can support check this device and see if they have any logs that would highlight why the device is rebooting? I'd be fine replacing it with a C-8 if there is a suspicion that there is a hardware issue, but I don't want to have to if I don't need to.

Power supply?

Agree - rule it out at least. Switch power supply & cable.

Can you PM me the hub id? I'll check the engineering logs.

Well, it’s been up for several hours. Swapped out power supply and removed Wi-Fi outlet from the mix.

I do have zigbee devices falling off the network after a reboot. What would cause that? Sengled bulbs.

I've been up and down w/Sengled bulbs the past few months, after >3 years of zero issues.. However, since around .118 on my C8 they have been stable/reliable again. Rebooting has not been dropping them off the mesh.

No idea why they started to fall off (and it had started on my C7 well before the C8 release) and no idea why they are behaving reliably again. I made no change targeting them, other than replacing all of them w/Hue bulbs for a while.

I see what you’re doing . It probably makes more sense to upgrade than to add antennas to my C7…

Well, took the crummy Sylvania out, shutdown for 30 mins. Brought them all up and ensured they were all paired properly. Multiple reboots later, they all still work (minus the Sylvania).

Also, all the bulbs show as going through one of the repeaters.

I have heard questionnable things about the Sylvania bulbs, if that's what you're referring to. (Your bulb in particular, involving waaay too many tequila shots).

I guess when you get bored you can add it back and see what happens.  Glad you're up and running!

I’ve ordered a replacement generic zigbee 3 LED strip set. Hopefully it won’t have the same issues.
