So I've had this problem from day one although it used to take a month or two before the hub would need rebooting. Zwave part of the hub just freezes until a reboot however now it locks up within a day. The zigbee side works fine though any one else experience this? Does the c7 suffer from this at all tempted to buy another and bin this one
Not in my experience.
I have 3 C-7 but only 2 of them have ZWave enabled. (The 3rd has no Z-Radio enabled.) I have only ever rebooted them due to external events.. new Platform releases, house power outages.
yeah its odd and becoming very annoying!
I'll suggest you put in a Support ticket and then Support will probably take a look at internal logs to see if there's a hint.
What firmware are you on? Is your hub on a UPS? I've never seen this with my C-7, and I never reboot except when firmware is updated or when there is an extended power failure, and my C-7 has shut down automatically (before the UPS drains) according to my shutdown rule.

Well, it’s possible that you are seeing power glitches. I note that you are experiencing this on your C-5. I’ve also got a C-5, and I never noticed this issue on the C-5 during the year it was my production hub, and I’ve not seen it on the C-5 since it became my dev hub and I transferred all devices to the C-7.
I agree with @csteele that you should turn in a support ticket and ask support to take a look at internal support logs to see if there is an indication of the cause of your problems with the hub.
