For three years I had a C4 - loved it, everything worked, it was stable and very adaptable with rules, etc. Then for some reason, the Ethernet port failed.
Since I loved the C4 I had ordered a C7 as a backup/eventual replacement and when the C4 issue happened I sparked up the C7 - DoA unfortunately. No lights no nothing.
So I ordered another one off Amazon whilst I deal with the replacement of the first one. The second one arrived, I got it connected and off we go!
But it was not to be - Zigbee is ok but the Z Wave seems to be very short-ranged, fragile, extremely hard to pair with, and just downright terrible!
As an example, I have an Aeon Smart Switch 6 paired correctly after a full reset and it will not work 5 meters away. Nor will much else.
I have read on the community and here there are numerous issues - what is the fix for this? Z Wave is fine as I have been updating firmware on all devices I have been trying to connect and it works fine with a plain old Z Stick on Windows.
Shutdown from the settings menu. Unplug power from the wall, not the hub for 5 mins and power back up. Does that change anything? The above is not your z-wave details page. Go to settings>>z-wave details
If you did the power down and it didnt work, lets try one last thing. Goto yourhubip:8081. Go to soft reset and when it comes back up, restore with a previous backup. That should clean your database (which it sounds like is corrupt). If this doesn't work, a full reset seems to be in order (but that is a call for @bobbyD to make)
As it is a new hub, there is no real back - I tried to roll back to software to hub-2.2.9.146 which works and gave me an option for the firmware update to the ZWave which downloaded but failed to install.
Try re updating to the current 2.3.1.142 then doing the z-wave update (let it set on the z-wave settings page for 5 mins before doing the z-wave firmware update.
