C-8 to C-8 Pro Migration / z-wave Issue

Platform Version
2.4.1.167

Hardware Version
C-8 Pro

I migrated my C-8 to a C-8 Pro last week, and everything seemed to go perfectly. I have 57 z-wave devices of which, 4 are sleepy devices. Every thing has been working great all week.

Last night, something happened to my z-wave network. When I physically turned switches on/off, the hub was not showing the updated status of the switch. Z-wave repair ran cleanly, also rebooted the hub, neither helped.

What I noticed is if I used Hubitat to turn each switch on/off/on/off it would come back to life. It would miss the first on/off cycle, but the next ‘on’ command worked, after which the switch seemed ok. I had to do this to all 53 switches, and now everything seems good.

I’m not sure if this had to do with the migration or maybe a problem with the C-8 Pro.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

I’m concerned that this will be a reoccurring event.

Unless it happens again probably not an issue, but may want to do a shutdown with power removal for about 15-30 seconds to flush the radio cache and force it to rebuild.

@thebearmay - thanks for the response.

I did as you suggested, and interestingly after the power cycle, my switches all behaved the way I previously described. They require an on=>off=>on cycle to get them functioning normally.

I don’t remember having this problem on my C-8.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

Which ZWave stack are you running (ZwaveJS or ZipGateway (legacy))? If JS may want to see if running this little app fixes it next time: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thebearmay/hubitat/refs/heads/main/apps/zwInterview.groovy

(Shouldn't be needed, but if it corrects your issue it will be an indication on where to look for a true solution.)

Looks like it’s running ZipGateWay.

I didn’t realize there was an option for Zwave stacks.

I suppose I could try switching and see if it gets better.

Only production released for the C8-Pro ATM, although some of us in the Beta group are playing with it on C-7s and C-8s.
