Need advise. Just migrated from C-8 to C-8 Pro with no major issues. Only two issues, 3 Motorized Window shades were needed to re-included. Now working fine. BUT all of the 4 Yale Assure SL locks, previously included in C-8, did not migrate successfully. Not responding at all. Excluded all as they were not responding but can not include. Last two days with these 4 locks, I am at no where. In each and every attempt, found Z-wave device and stop completing inclusion. Later found a device added in the list as Entry Control [e00802e3009a00] but does not work. Please help me.
I created 4 virtual locks to retain apps unbroken.
You did not mention if you tried, but if not, perform a factory reset on them.
Thanks for looking into. I did factory reset on one lock by pressing rest button on the pcb but no improvement. One of the locks successfully paired with C7 and works well. But again tried it with C-8 pro, no success. I did exclusion prior to inclusion steps.
I would use SmartStart to include them.
Also read all this please and provide requested info:
Thanks for the information. I am using wired network and the supplied power supply. All the firmware are updated. There is no QR code available for SmartStart. Lock can be included to C8 successfully but not to C-8 Pro.
I have a Yale assure 256 and a Kwikset lever lock. They both work correctly on the C8-pro. On the Yale, I did a factory reset and maybe put in the master code before the inclusion process. "Maybe" because It has been a year and my memory of just what I did is a little faded.
You did not supply the requested screenshots.
The information in there can help determine what the issue might be.
Should be right on the ZW Module in the lock battery compartment (I have a YRD256).
Hi jtp10181, greetings to you.
The hub has
Platform Version: 2.4.0.151
Hardware Version: C-8 Pro
Please let me know if additional information is needed to help me. I am new to this LR term and SmartStart. These 4 locks I bought from Yale. Based on your suggestion, I checked Z-Wave module and I found that there is no QR code on the Z-Wave module but bar codes. Please see the pictures attached. I have sent email to Yale for the QR code but got no response.
After migrating from C-8 to C-8 Pro I have another issue ad planning to post separate topic later as soon I am able to include these 4 locks in C-8 Pro. Please help. Thank you
IIRC, that's a 500-series z-wave device, so Smart Start may not be an option for it -- as I understand it, Smart Start is possible with some 500-series devices, but not all (whereas it is available for all 700- and 800-series devices).
However, I'll defer to Jeff's expertise when he gets a chance to respond -- he's far more familiar with this stuff than I am!
I messed up, the Yale ZW2 module is 500 chip (S0 security) with no smartstart. I was thinking of my other 3 which all have S2 and SmartStart.
I still need to see the requested screenshots in order to provide next steps.
For those there is only the basic include which you did. It will show as S0 and 40KBPS best case. Same for my YRD256 and the Kwikset Lever lock. Hardware companies don't seem to get that their tech gets obsolete and needs to be upgraded.
Hi Jeff:
Thanks for your time. I am attaching the information as per your note. Please help.

Hub stats:
129 devices: hub uptime is 3d 23h 17m 54s
I would to mention here the following for your information (might be helpful):
- Two weeks before, I migrated C-8 to C-8 Pro. All the devices migrated successfully except three window shades, four Yale locks and few switches/dimmers.
- I included these three window shades and remaining switches/dimmers next day
- All the rules and all the apps are functioning well without any issue
- BUT
- Unable to include these 4 Yale locks with multiple attempts
- AND most of the Z-Wave devices (I have total 53) are not visible in the Z-Wave details page. Only the devices I included manually after the migration, are visible
Please ignore the above if not related to the scope of this discussion on Yale Lock incusion.
Thank you again
How was the migration done?
Sounds like you migrated the hub database but not the zwave radio…. You either did something wrong or it failed. I assume none of your other zwave devices are working?
If you have not made significant changes since you attempted migration it might be best to do it again. Only problem will be any devices you have reset since then won’t work and have ghost nodes.
Pretty much you have a mess on your hands.
Thanks
Migration was done through Cloud backup
Thanks Jeff.
I did migration through Cloud backup. Although the devices are not visible in Z-Wave details page, but they are working with all the rule under Rule Machine.
I did another hub migration one day later. That was C-7 to C-8 with no issue.
It seems to me that I have to do the migration again.
Thank you again. I do not like to waste your time anymore but appreciate your kind reviewing.
Hold off on re-migrating if you have not done it yet. I am surprised the other devices are still working. Looking again it does appear something bad happened with the migration for sure. I see your nodes start at 112, so it does not look like a wiped radio or would start at 5. Its like it migrated all the devices but wont show them on the details page for some reason.
Because of that we cannot see or get rid of the old lock nodes which is possibly what is hanging them up from including again.
@bcopeland @bobbyD have you seen this before?
Not a problem, we are all here to help.
No. @tfort2 I would run the migration again. Just know that newly added devices would need to be reincluded. Also, if you power off the new hub, does the old works? May want to take a fresh backup in case something went wrong with the original cloud backup.
I think they already overwrote the old C8 hub with a migration from a C7. So if that is the case then DO NOT make another migration backup from that hub. You would have to use the backup from prior, which is hopefully still available.
