C-8 Memory Alert

Hi all,

I’m getting low memory alerts from time to time, but the telemetry shows plenty of memory available on my hub C-8 v2.5.0.157 - this only started recently, any suggestions please?

Well it is dropping below 100k. Probably due for a reboot. You can create a rule that at lets say 3am if the memory is below 100k it autoreboots.

Ah, so I'm reading the mem chart the wrong way? Assumed that was used memory, not free memory.

I've got a restart routine if necessary, was hoping for the means to perform an RCA .

I found that going back to Zwave Zip Gateway saved around 150kb.

Unfortunately, I also found ZwaveJS easier to deal with.

Have you looked at past logs to see what might cause your hub to spin out of control? I would start by resolving any errors and warnings. I am pretty sure if you look at the logs you'd be able to narrow down the problem.

Found it was a matter issue

What caused it to go back up after turning matter off?

Investigating recent memory alerts led me to the free memory chart, troubleshooting then led me to discover that disabling Matter drastically frees up memory - what that chart shows is Matter being toggled on and off.

I have turned Matter off since I have alternative hubs to handle those devices, which has resolved my problem.

What’s the endpoint(?) for getting memory? This doesn’t seem to work anymore.

With or without the History part.

There’s an app I created to manage memory and hub health that may be helpful. Makes it a lot easier to keep your hub in top condition.

PS, Matter is a RAM hog and best left off on the non-pro model imo.

This works fine for me

Never mind, brain freeze. Helps to use the correct IP address.

Nice - cheers mate!

No worries. :+1:
