Just upgraded from C-7 to C-8, With the exception of Yale Zigbee door bolt locks all works fine. But, while my Yale Zigbee locks worked fine on C-7 on my C-8 they just drop off the network. They all pair up ok (takes longer than most other devices I have) but then sometime later they just dissappear from the Zigbee network. Any idea? Wondering if I should go back to C-7
I have 6 yale zigbee locks running on one of my C8's not had any issues with them dropping off the network, something else is environmentally afoot here...
I put the C-8 in the same location where I had the C-7 -- but the C-7 works fine. I'm backing off to C-7 now.
Where is your nearest mains based repeater to the lock(s)?
I do not have any repeaters unless some of my devices embed one.
If there are no mains based Zigbee devices in your mesh, and only battery ones, you don't have repeaters and that makes for a very weak mesh. All mains based devices are repeaters be it Zigbee or z-wave
Mostly I have in-wall light switches or bulbs. If by mains you mean non-battery most are. Sorry -- I misunderstood the word 'mains'. Regardless, doesn't explain why C-7 works fine and C-8 doesnt
How far is the closest mains based unit to the lock(s)? Are you still using the same driver that you used on the C7? Is the c7 still powered up? Did you change the zigbee channel on the c8 (recommended to have the hub 20 or above and your wifi 11 or below so they don't overlap). If you bring up the View As Graph option on your zigbee details page, does it show going straight to the hub or via repeater?
I tried 20 but didn't know about a conflict with 11. I have two 2.5GHz and one Sonos. They use 1,6 and 11. The graph no longer shows the locks since they dissappeared but it was direct to them -- not through a neighbor. The nearest main is maybe 8 feet from the hub. I have tuya or other zigbee in-wall switches. The in-wall switches by the way have no issue -- it is only the Yale Assure Zigbee locks.
Can you temporarily move the hub closer to one of the locks to see if they still drop off? As to the accessories I'm more concerned about your router being set to broadcast on only 11 or lower.
I would like to do that but I have a second posting here. Wifi connectivity wont work for me with my Asus Mesh router -- the Hubitat is not getting a valid IP from my router DHCP.
It sounds like you're double natting.,. Have your isp put their equipment into bridge/passthru mode and do DHCP on your Asus router.
That's what i already have
If dhcp is enabled on your asus router and it's disabled on the isp equipment there should be no issue getting an address. You're connected via Ethernet port or WiFi?
The C-8 is on Ethernet. I go into Network settings and under Wifi I join the SSID -- it is here the Wifi IP does not get a proper one back.
nuggets of gold. thanks! 20 and 11... copy!!!
Is your wifi network on the same subnet as your hard wired network?
Yes. 255.255.255.0
I think I'm going to return the C-8 hub and get a new one.
That's you're subnet length, your subnet will likely be 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x or 10.0.1.x etc.... So lets assume your hard wired devices are on 192.168.1.x but your wifi stuff somehow is segregated onto 192.168.2.x you won't get your DHCP issued address.
