My C7 hub suddenly cannot be found after working perfectly for months. Not found with website or app. Hub green light is on. Reset didn't work. No response from pinging the IP address. This all means I can't use the diagnostic tool. The hub is registered on my account, but also says it is offline.
Thanks! Yes, green light is on. Port scanner shows several IP addreses, but none are Hubitat (or anything smililar) and many manufacturers are blank. Hub's IP address doesn't appear. Hub MAC address doesn't appear, either. Next step?
go to the hubitat portal and see if it can find your hub>after< you press the network reset button on the bottom of the hub, it's the only round hole among many square holes, near the edge of the box
Did that earlier, but tried again. Held reset button for 10s. Released and light alternates between blue and green - and then solid green. Can't find it on web portal nor app. Reran port scanner (see earlier suggestion). No luck. Still offline. Next?
hmm, not sure. IIRC I have read threads where the ethernet port goes bad. you could try WiFi, but there are specific requirements. Before you do that , after the hub boots and LED is green do any automations work? That'll tell us if the platform is running.
from hub's Network Setup C7
Wi-Fi drivers
Connecting a USB device to your Hubitat hub requires a special OTG + power cable. This type of adapter cable feeds power to the hub while simultaneously providing a USB data connection to USB peripheral device(s).
Hubitat supports TP-Link long range (recommended), TP-Link mid-range, and TP-Link nano USB Wi-Fi adapters. Pick one that best suits your range and packaging requirements.
Press Install Wi-Fi drivers and confirm installation succeeded.
Enter and save Wi-Fi connection settings below.
Plug in your Wi-Fi adapter and reboot the hub.
Wi-Fi drivers are currently NOT installed.
I should have included that tidbit... yes, the automations still work (shade goes up and down as programmed) but I can't control the shade using Google Home app anymore. That clued me that something was wrong with the hub and then I discovered it wasn't being "found." Being offline seems to be the root cause. Bad ethernet port, perhaps? I'll look into WiFi.
