Searched forum but didn’t find anything.
Sent an email to support.
Upgraded to 2.3.0.124 yesterday around 4:00. Things where working normally for a while.
From my logs, Z wave device stopped working around 5:30. Zigbee devices are still working. Rebooted the hub this morning didn’t help.
Of course there’s been no reply.
Other symptoms:
Z Wave Details - Repair Z Wave wouldn’t run, no Z Wave devices listed. Devices page still listed all devices.
Dug into the forum some more and someone suggested shutdown and disconnect power to reset the radio. That worked for me in this instance.
I’m committed to HE, but don’t think I could recommend it to someone due to the lack of response from support.
I am glad to hear that updating your hub to the latest version went well. If your Z-Wave collapsed, that's indicative of one or more trouble devices in your mesh. If the radio was locked up, and a power cycle brought back the radio online, is just a matter of time until it locks up again, without isolating the problem that caused the collapse in the first place.
Unlike the newer C7 model, which gives you a better view into your Z-Wave mesh, the C5 model is missing some important details that would otherwise help you troubleshoot Z-Wave issues. The best way to identify which device(s) caused the problem, is to screen your hub's Logs (past Logs) for excessive traffic.
If you have devices in your mesh that are unresponsive, I don't recommend running repair, as doing so may result in radio locking up, as you've experienced. Instead, I would first attempt to power cycle the device itself, or exclude the device then re-include it.
Response time of most companies is 24 hours or less for support of this type. I don't think I have ever seen a promise of 24/7 on demand support from Hubitat, maybe I am wrong about that?
@bobbyD thanks I did have a Zooz ZSE43 Tilt sensor in distress. The hub could see it but wasn't seeing changes. I had mounted it to a metal door structure that messed with it's radio. Pulling it off it worked. Placing it on a metal file cabinet in the room with the hub killed it again. I just received a C7 this week and will be moving all my devices to it.
Good luck! If you are planning to transfer the Z-Wave network from your C-5, I would strongly discourage you from doing it, based on this incident.
Instead, take your time and build a new mesh on your C7 from scratch. The following doc might give you a few good tips to lay a good foundation for your new C7:
