I am trying to programm my ZEN32 scene controller, button 1 to turn on and off my GE 40amp switch which controls my pool pump. The button on the ZEN32 seems to be recognized when I press it but the signal is never sent/received by the GE 40amp switch. I have tried simple automation per Zooz instructions, Rule and the Button Controller app.
Do you have a C5 or C7 hub? (The C7 will provide more Z-Wave details)
How far is your GE 40amp switch from your hub (It is possible that it is too far and that the signal is not getting to it)
Are you able to control the GE switch from the device screen? When you manually change it, does it show its status on the screen? (Same reason as above - it is possible that it is not able to communicate with the hub)
I just bout it from Amazon and thought it was the c7 but now looking at the list it says part number c5 with the upgraded 700 series zwave. I think I’ll return it and upgrade it if that’s the case.
That is the C7. It has the upgraded 700 series zwave. Check under “Settings” -> “Hub Details”. If it should say “Rev C-7” under Hardware version - this will confirm that you have the latest.
Next, can you go to Settings -> Z-Wave Details and provide a screenshot?
If the GE switch is 2 feet from the Hub, there should not be any signal issues, but the screenshot will confirm this. Also, if you are able to control the GE switch from the device page, the signal should be good.
To help you determine if there is an issue with the rule you created, turn on logging by toggling the “Enable login” button. You can post a screenshot so that someone in the community may see if there are apparent issues.
Thanks, although that doesnt seem to be the only reason since I have the hub so close. There is a wall in between but also 3 large windows. In addition I am able to turn the pump on and off with no issues. I can try a repeater to see if that helps but it doesn't seem consistent. Thoughts?
Now that the db's are at 48 for the pool pump and 28 for the zooz switch I would assume we should be good?
With that, the switch button 1 is still not turning the pump on. I also notice the status of the pump is not updating still as stated before. Even when I manually turn it on and off the status does not update. Going to keep working on it and learning!
And now it turns on and off, and shows the proper status. It does seem there is an issue with the driver. I do not know enough to dig in any further unfortunately.
Interesting, so the Stock GE 40amp driver doesn’t work properly for the switch you have. Can you share more information about the switch (model number and link if possible) so that this can be shared with @bcopeland who looks after those built-in Z-wave drivers?
