I have a Zooz ZEN52 double relay in my C-7 constellation, presently F/W 2.5.0.146. ZEN52 Switch 1 controls a ceiling fan, switch 2 controls the light fixture attached to the fan assembly.
The setup works fine everywhere except on the Home page, Lights button, perhaps because the devices are children of the main device. I can select the correct Switch object into the "Lights" inclusion dialog, but the device does not show in the list of selected devices, and when "ON", the light is not counted in Lights. See photos below.
Had to photo the screen, since initiating a screen capture forces the scroll to bottom, hiding the pertinent info.
The item "Light (Fan, Switch 2)" is checked, Selected, into "Treat these Switches as Lights"
Now, an image of the actual Device list for all devices, with the ZEN52 selected. The parent device is "Fan-Light". The Light in question is encircled, and the present state is underlined. The light is controlled on the second switch, i.e., the second child device.
This is a portion of the list of Devices selected as "Lights", by clicking the "Lights" button on Home page. Note that there is no entry for "Fan-Light" (the main device)...
First, OP thanks for this post as I had not seen the settings gear on the home page to help define which devices show up in the "Lights" count. So I've now edited that to the extent possible, but what is still apparently (to me) not possible are the following:

One child is the Bond fan, the other child is a "generic component dimmer." The dropdown WILL let me select the fan (which I don't want to do) but won't offer the option of selcting the light (dimmer).

Several Jasco plug in dual dimmers connected to lights. These devices come into HE as a parent device, and each has two child devices (one for each plug, controlled separately). Each child device is a "Generic component dimmer." The dropdown won't offer the option of selcting either light (dimmer).
So the common denominator above in my setup is that if the device is a "Generic component Dimmer" I can't define it as a light.
The common denominator in the OP's setup is OP can't define "Generic Component Switch" as a light.
I believe this is a bug. Happy to be told otherwise and advised how to resolve this...
The issue appears to me (in ignorance??) to be related to types of device. I also have a ZEN51, single relay, that controls a chandelier above my dining table. This is also included in "Lights" on the Home page, and it works as expected. The difference seems to perhaps be that the ZEN52 has a parent-child driver appearance, which the ZEN51 does not have. I can't see another difference. I, too, could select the fan as a light, but obviously it is not, so I don't! I did briefly attempt, non scientifically, to see if including the fan in the set would affect anything, and it apparently didn't.
You may see from one of my illustrations that the second, light, switch has a different ID form than the fan, but I don't know why that should matter. For the ZEN51, there is nothing generic. Both devices do, however, use different custom drivers, "Zooz Zen52 Double Relay Advanced", versus "Zooz ZEN51 Relay Advanced"; both drivers by jtp10181.
I'm guessing there is some nuance that the logic considers "different" in including the device into the "Lights" set, as is evidenced by the fact that while it is selected into the set, it does not appear in the list of devices related to the "Lights" button.
Except that my Bond Fan & Light also have a parent/child entry, with BOTH the fan and the light being a child device. Hubitat WILL let me select the child device fan as a light (which I don't want to do) but won't let me select the child device light as a light (which I do want to do).
So far, from what I can tell, both you and I are using drivers labeled "Generic Component *" Yours is "switch" mine are "dimmers"
Yes, I have always believed that child devices are generally "generic", i.e., they are general, probably built-in handlers for the base functionality that feed a common signal set to/from the parent.
I do see both switches (fan and light) in the list available with check boxes for the "Light" selection in the dialog (the one that opens when the "Settings" icon at upper right is pressed), but they DO NOT appear in the final list of selected lights when clicking the button on the Home page: i.e., on the Home page, there is a row of buttons across the top, one of which is "Lights" with the total number of assigned light devices selected, and the number that are actually ON. If the button is clicked, a new page shows a list of the associated devices.
If they don't appear, then it's no surprise they don't work! I had only supposed that the parent/child relationship may have something to do with the phenomenon. Someone with code access would have to identify the actual issue.
This, I think, is a feature relatively new in HE. I have a second device not in the Beta program, so it runs the latest release firmware. It does not appear to show many of the buttons I have selected, even though there are devices connected. Not sure why.
Edit: Aha! The "Power" button shows only if a designated device is ON and registering power. The "Lights" button shows always.
Maybe, but I have plenty of child devices with other drivers that do show up on the Home Page Dashboard in the device count. These child devices in include:
In Lights: Bond Fan, Bond Fan Light, Bond Fan Light Timer, "Generic Component Switch" (there goes my theory about "Generic Component.." not showing up)
In HSM: Generic Component Water Sensor and Abode Alarm Water
In Climate: Honeywell WiFi T-stats
@bobbyD : Is the issue of these child devices not being available to select from a bug or a user error?
Not sure I understand: I thought you said you could not select the light?
In my case, I can select the light or the fan in the setup dialog, but the selected device does not then appear in the affected devices: two different tables, accessed from different menus. The selected light device does not affect the Lights button, whether ON or OFF. All other selected lights DO affect the Lights button.
