@patrick, I think I may have found an irritating bug in Device Discovery. I had 3 Visonic MCT-340 contact sensors to add to my HE.
When I added the first one, it immediately found the device. The bug is that it won't let you name the device. As soon as you start typing in the box, the letters disappear. I eventually just saved it and renamed it in the device details screen.
Thinking it may a browser issue with my computer, I rebooted my computer and added the second device. Same thing.
I then fired up my laptop to add the third device. Same thing.
Long story short, they add, but cannot name them within the device discovery page. Have to rename them in the device details page.
The problem is with the pairing mode timer. I think the timer is stealing away the input focus which makes what you type disappear. To work around that problem all you need to do is once the device is discovered scroll up and click on STOP the pairing mode and then go back to the input field and name your device. Or you could wait for the 60 second timeout and then input your device name.
I found this issue prevalent over several of the past releases.
I noticed this problem when I was converting from SmartThings about a month ago. As I remember it was only happening with zigbee and not zwave. I think with zwave once a device is found the inclusion mode is canceled whereas the zigbee keeps counting down to zero
I've run into that problem multiple times while joining z-wave devices using Chrome, but at that time I had a partially joined "found device" stuck on that screen so I assumed it had something to do with that.
I have the same issue on Chrome and android. With zwave devices. the countdown timer time out didn't make a difference. I could only get 1 letter to in the name, until I opened the device in devices screen and renamed it
