Brrrr sure is getting cool in here

There is a bug in the thermostat controller.

In the dropdown you are able to select an item but when you do the field remains blank

Since the fields are not set to valid values there is no way to leave the screen.

The thermostat is a Bond device controlling a simple on/off fireplace. I am able to control the fireplace from the device page.

This is a problem with the thermostat driver. What driver does this thermostat use?

Please post a screenshot of the thermostat device page, the part with Current States.

If you are not using Release 2.3.3, you need to update to that. Changes were made to both thermostat drivers and there is a new version of Thermostat Controller that works with those changes.

Yes I'm at 2.3.3. It' s strange the automation has been working for so long that I have completely forgotten the I am using Dominick Meglio's driver. I have switched to the built in driver. Exactly the same. Is Bond getting those quotes?

I'm referring to the "Fireplace Thermostat". Please show that one's Current States and what driver it is.

This is not Thermostat Controller at all. This is Rule Machine. Is this a Rule 5.1 rule? Or is it an older version? You would need to use Rule 5.1.

The broken action is where the Bond device is commanded to heat.

There is no physical thermostat for this dumb fireplace so all control is RM. The Virtual thermostat controls the on off of the fireplace. The events raised by the thermostat are captured and used to control the Bond device. The Broken rule is where the Bond device is set to heat. That is where the problem is.
Guess this explains why I originally sent the device page for the Bond device.

You will need to redo this rule as Rule 5.1.

Rewrite successful. Testing will take longer but I see no reason for it not to work.
