C7 on last weeks platform.
Using the Bond Motorized Shade driver that I've brought into Hubitat via the Bond Home User Intergration.
I have top down/bottom up blinds. The only way I could get them paired is to pair the top rail, and the bottom rail as separate blinds, which is fine.
I only ever move the top rail. In reality:
when top rail is up, shade is closed
when top rail is down, shade is open
The Hubitat driver tracks three things with the following default:
when (top) rail is up, shade= open and Switch=on
when (top) rail is down, shade=closed and Switch=off
The driver has two commands that seem like they should allow me to switch between Open and Close: Fix Shade and Start Position Change
Fix Shade will allow me to change Current State from open to closed and also automatically changes the Current State switch from on to off. But it does not survive an open close cycle; it just reverts back.
Start Position Change also has Open & Close in the dropdown. But selecting either has not impact on the Current State, either now or in the future.
Is there any way to address this? Am I just doing something incorrect?
Went with www.blindsexpress.com house brand.
They are rebranded Comfortex. Blinds Express will share the sales rep technical guide with you so you can go through it and figure out every single detail and select any available option. They were the only online retailer I found that allowed that level of granularity.
At the top of their webpage, filter by "Our Brand"; then on the left side in Browse by filter by "Cellular"; then near the top, below the black bar, on "Refine by", in preferences, select motorized and top down/bottom up.
I've had mine for over 2 years and pleased with both BlindsExpress service (which is excellent) and the product. When I bought, these were at least 50% less cost than the next motorized TDBU I could find, so I bought them even though they don't have a zigbee or zwave motor, (Motorized TDBU are now more readily available, but larger sizes like what I needed are still more scarce).
The blinds come with an RF remote. I bought a Bond Bridge, paired them to that, and then have the Bond Bridge talking the HE. Works fairly well but there are some issues with both the community Bond Bridge integration as well as the official HE one. Since then, I've learned a Broadlink hub may have been a better solution (and is also less expensive than the Bond).
The one downside with my blinds is that unlike the claim that the charge lasts for up to a year, mine lasts about 41 days (same on both units). This is not a deal breaker for me, although it is a bit annoying.
