Best Way to Add Initialize, Refresh to Rule

I have a rule I made that I have been trying to add the Initialize and Refresh commands to but without success. Everything I try seems to bog down the hub.

So does anyone have an idea of where to add these commands? I am showing a rule to use as an example. thanks

Is that command available on the edit device page? If not, you are out of luck. If it is, look for Custom Action, select the device and it will then list all the commands available for that device.

Yes I have already found them, it is the way they are put into the rule that was causing a problem. I had an ELSE after the speech followed by Initialize followed by refresh with a 5 sec. delay so the initialize could execute before the refresh was given. Maybe I needed a cancel delayed actions after the Refresh. I don't know that is why I am asking.

Here is what I had before. This caused a huge slowdown of the hub. Granted I had quite a few rules that had the initialize and refresh added in too.

Thanks for the reply. I guess not a lot of people do this. But I think, so far, that the following rule is working. Hub seems OK with this rule. I went back to the examples the staff gave for rule 4.0. Gee what a novel idea! :grinning: So far the speaker Q has not filled up and it has spoke every time.

Would have never guessed... if true... Not quite the same aesthetic as Ab-Fab....

And yes. for various reasons probably best to setup a new thread...
