First of all let me say thank you for any assistance that you may provide. Your insight has been valuable to me as I learn HE.
So, I created a scene called kitchen lights which link my Hue bulbs in kitchen to an on off status
My question
How can I link that scene to Alexa? and provide a voice response back.
For example command to issue to Alexa turn on kitchen lights
I would then like to get a response
Turning on Kitchen Lights
Then have it execute the scene kitchen lights.
I am sure this is very basic but Alexa keeps telling me it didn't find a device kitchen lights.
I understand how to give commands to alexa when only one device is of concern but not a scene or multiple.
I have a Virtual Switch called "Reading Scene". It is "exported" to the Amazon Echo app and thus seen by Alexa as a switch called "Reading Scene". There's a Rule that uses the Virtual Switch as the Condition. On [True] sets the three lights in a room to specifics. Off [False] sets them to off. I should really do this in a scene, but I built all of this before the Groups and Scene app was released.
That's really all there is. I say "Alexa, reading scene on" and a couple moments later after the lights are on, she says OK. Same with "alexa, reading scene off"
I guess the "trick" is to export a switch, since at this time, that's what Amazon Echo app supports. Then have that switch turn your scene on/off.
Thank You for such a quick response. I am still missing something. May I inquire a bit more.

I've created a virtual switch called kitchen lights but alexa still does not see it. How can I export it to
amazon echo?
Doing this, how can I put a response in Turning on kitchen lights?
Thank You for your assistance

OK. So... ignoring the TTS bit for a moment (even assuming you have any trouble with that, and that Alexa just saying 'OK' wouldn't do the trick), if she's saying the can't find a device 'kitchen lights', then this is almost certainly a setup problem.
From memory, you're going to need the following things to be done:
The Alexa Skill enabling on the Hubitat Hub.
The thing you want to be controlled (that's either the virtual device for your scene, or just the group containing the lights if you're not trying to be fancy) to be selected in the Alexa Skill configuration.
The Hubitat skill loaded to the Alexa using the Alexa App, and paired with your Hubitat user.
From there... alexa should discover the device, and be able to control it.
Oh... and one thing that I HAVE noticed causes oddness - if your Alexa has multiple profiles loaded... the devices look to be per-profile. I had one that wouldn't work for ages until I worked out somebody had switched it's profile so that it didn't keep stepping on the rest of the houses Spotify subscription
Does that help, or have I totally missed the scope of the question?
