My Platform version: 2.3.9.164
My Hardware version: C-8
Recently my hub stopped working. I thought it could be a space/log issue and did a soft reset hoping it would solve the space issue. I have several backups using Platform version 2.3.9.143.
Question 1: Can I restore my local backup file 2.3.9.143.lzf while on platform version 2.3.9.164? If so, how can I do so? All my restore attempts end in a corrupt DB error. Soft reset did not fix the issue. Both attempts never complete the restore process. I cannot roll back to platform version 2.3.9.143 since I could only see the below platform versions in Hubitat Diagnostic Tool - restoring the previous version option. Please note I have several ZigBee devices and I hate to do a full reset.
a) 2.3.9.164 b) 2.3.9.158, 2.3.8.140.
Question 2: I have Webcore installed on Hubitat Hub. Is there a way for me to save my Webcore pistons(backup) before trying full reset as the last option?
There were no database changes between .143 and .164 so the data should restore fine. just go to Settings|Backup & Restore and select the option to upload and restore a local backup.
Inside of webCoRE there is an option to create a backup of all pistons and save it.
I tried it yesterday. It got stuck at 55% for more than 8 hours. I tried to reboot the Hub using the Hubitat Diagnostic Tool. It rebooted but said the database was corrupt do a soft reset. If I try a soft reset, it also gets stuck at some point before the complete soft reset. Is there anything I should try? Can it be a Zigbee device restore issue? Please help
Local backup/restore doesn’t restore the radio data but unless you do a full reset it isn’t necessary. Could try a reboot with the rebuild option. If that doesn’t work some have been able to recover from that by going back one firmware version, restoring from a backup and then re-upgrading to the current firmware version.
I couldn't reboot with the rebuild option, but I managed to resolve the issue. I had many backup files; some files have the keyword "manual" at the end and some don't (see below screenshot). I tried restoring the backup files without the word "manual". The restore kept failing. But when I tried the backup file with the word "manual" while on Platform version: 2.3.9.160, the restore worked perfectly. I am pretty sure the backups are not the same kind. I'll keep you posted. Thank you for your assistance.
Is there a difference between "Create and download new local backup" and Scheduled backups? I couldn't restore the scheduled backups on the "local database" tab. The manually downloaded backup worked fine. I am glad I didn't lose any data.
