Aurora Aone system drivers help

hi, does anyone know when the aone smart system drivers will officially be available ? theres a few items in their range I just cant get working, id like to be able to use them, many thanks

@mike.maxwell
Is this something you can advise/answer?

I have no idea about these devices, never heard of them...

Aurora's AOneTM smart lighting, sensing and control platform, powered by Gooee® - Aurora Lighting - a lighting and technology company tailoring services and solutions to deliver Value Beyond Illumination™ theyre available here in the uk, they work with smartthings also their own hub. I have their hub(which is not very good) already and im wanting to transfer their items over as I love my HE but not all their items work with the generic drivers

I'm in the UK as well but I've never heard of these.
They are zigbee so in theory they may work with HE.
Do you have them paired directly to ST?
Are you using a custom device handler? If so, it may be possible to port it over to HE.

ive got a few things to work with the generic, I don't have them on smart things I have them on the aone hub, their platform is garbage, I daren't use a smart things driver as my hub keeps going unreachable so I need to try sort that out first then onto braver things lol, as youre in the uk do you know what would be a nice looking door contact I can use and also wall switch ? cheers

There a few available in both zigbee and zwave. In my experience zigbee seem to be quicker to report but I suppose it's not that critical with a contact sensor.
The Xiaomi / Aqara ones are very small and work with a custom driver very well. Depending on the size of your property your may need to get a zigbee repeater. The IKEA Tradrifi outlet is excellent at repeating.
For zwave there a lots of options but these tend to be bigger. If you are looking to hide them in the door/window recess have a look at the Sensative Strips. I have one of these on my patio doors and where I have it you cannot see it whether the door is open or closed.
As for wall switches, personally I would go for the Fibaro or Aeotec dimmers IF you can fit them in your light switch back box. You can also fit these in the ceiling rose. This way you can chose whatever 'dumb' switch you wish.
I have LightwaveRF ones fitted but you need there hub. I would keep away from these.
Hope this helps.

Hi @Glyn.2009 I did their course the other week so I'm really interested in how you get on with these.
1st have you paired them with their hub? There products need to get a firmware update before they can work correctly.
2nd if you have ST it is probably worth then pairing them there and letting us know what driver it selects. (It should pick one as it's supported) . Once we know the driver we should be able to port it if needed

I'm planning on getting some stuff soon too from their range. Also looking forward to there future plans  . I'm liking the sockets and lamps

@mike.maxwell this is the stuff I mentioned a few weeks ago I'm hoping I can get them to send you some samples :+1:

ZigBee 3.0 no less  and looking like their lamps don't have a repeating issue

Ive got the online dimmers to work, and the relays and kinda got the rgb strip controllers to work, I've have a few items that have just either never worked or stopped working in a couple of weeks, I held up high hopes but it's looking like they might have released it too soon, their app layout etc is just garbage, I spoke to the main programmer a couple of months ago to try find out what channel they're on , an he couldn't tell me, also you couldn't move items around as it stated alphabetical, couldn't have multiple dashboards, I think they've just released it too soon if I'm honest, also let me know what prices you get as I should have slightly better pricing than you

I was going to get some of the sensitive strips but I've read some major issues with battery life which put me off, I've just got a wallmote quad to look at, seems pretty, annoyingly it's z wave an everything else is signed so I'm gonna have to get something to repeat for me

I've got 2 sensative strips. They claim the battery should last 10 years.
I've had one for 2 and the other nearly 3 years. Both still going strong.

This is completely changing my opinion on these, I just don't want to be left with an expensive bit of plastic :joy:

they are hoping to release a large app update this month i believe then another one planned for end of year. But in this case the hub is just needed for the firmware updates. Are all you devices on latest firmware?

that's because the hub does a scan and picks the best channel when it gets originally set up and there is no way to change it after that unless you wipe everything and start again :flushed:.

i would be surprised I have been given a one off price deal for one order because they know we need to test it out before we can sell it to customers. I will PM you.

what Device handlers did it choose on ST?

yes they're all updated as of last month, however it would be a nightmare to migrate them back to update the firmware further!

the hub doesn't keep a channel it changes periodically, I just wanted this info as I installed some wifi access points an they washed out the aurora stuff, luckily ubiquity let you change channels etc

this wasn't a one off order, so far ive spent more than £7800 pounds with them, they sent me a standard rate which them a customer came back to me an said they found it cheaper so they gave me a better rate moving forward, it wasn't much more off but it was at least something

I didn't ever put it on st, I put it on their hub and worked out that it wasn't going to work for me so I added it to my HE which Rudolph said wouldn't work, hilariously it works better on HE,

if you are going to use their hub please note that if its a house with a router and an access point itll work fine, but if you are working in a house with multiple switches and 16 access points the aurora hub tends to freeze an never come back online even after its been reset, they dialled into it an said all the parameters are correct and the system is setup correctly but it just doesn't work and we don't know why,

no worries pm anytime, I tend to check daily

you mean zigbee channel yes? If so that is incorrect no zigbee channel changes periodically the devices are not able to just change it takes them a while to find a new channel so if this was true everyone's system would constantly stop working. Also as this was a question i asked during the course i know its fixed and not changeable. To me that is a pitfall what if your in a block of flats and someone else changes there channel that messes you mesh your kind of stuffed (how ever unlikely that is to happen). The HE hub you can change the channel it will take a while for everything to find the new channel but you can change it.

If you could put it on ST we could then port proven drivers for it to HE i would like to know what the sockets use especially?

I think I have this on email somewhere, Rudolph told me this info, obviously no way for me to test this theory either way as it doesn't show you the channel lol, I changed the channels of the AP's and it stopped washing the aurora hub out, it was a strange situation as everything was connected an showing working but you couldn't press any tiles, the kinetic switch still worked though
